Team:abunai will distribute albums, EPs and compilations by remarkable and unique independent musicians that we enjoy. For the most part the music is freely downloadable via this website, though in some cases we make exceptions and put out physical releases. Why be part of team:abunai when you can just distribute the music for free by yourself? We hope that by bringing together a roster of distinct and talented artists we will encourage people to discover the other music featured on the site. Promoting each other by association. Maybe someone came here for Dreamdaze, and decided to give C Wolf a try too. Maybe they liked it, and came back and downloaded everything else. Then imagine they donate a million dollars to each of the artists on here. Okay, now quit imagining things and just realize that coming together and promoting each other helps us all out.
Before submitting anything, poke around and download some of the music already in our catalog. This compilation would be a good place to start. If you haven't already done this, you probably shouldn't bother submitting anything in the first place. What kind of person do you think you are, anyway?
If you feel that you would fit in with us, or even if you don't think you would fit in but want to give a shot anyway (we're pretty open), the prefered means of submission are:
Please don't not send links to your myspace page as a way for us to sample your music. We would much rather be able to sit down and listen to it at our leisure so we can give it our full attention. You really don't want us half-assedly listening to the poorly encoded Myspace streams, do you? We will check out any websites/links you send us but let me once again emphasize that we prefer copies of your music we can take home, put on our iPod, play through our stereos, etc. This is for your benefit.
While not necessarily a strict rule, we prefer artists with at least some experience with playing live and distributing their music. You don't have to have a CD out or a hundred shows under your belt or anything, we just want to make sure you're serious about this. Unless your music is the tight-ass shit, we're not really looking for someone who downloaded a copy of Reason a few months ago and is suddenly an electronic musician. You have to start somewhere and we've all been there before, but for our purposes we are seeking more seasoned musicians.
Now... send us your music!
